Amanda McCoy

Amanda McCoy offers horse training and riding lessons at Allison Creek Farm. She can come to your farm to work with you and your horse, or you can bring your horse to the farm.

Her horsemanship style training focuses on creating healthy communication between horses and their riders.

Amanda and the SmithsThe majority of Amanda’s lessons are working with beginner and intermediate riders. She excels at helping riders develop confidence and learning the feel of the horse while focusing on safety and communication.  She helps riders understand all the tools available for communication.

Amanda’s patience and compassion for horses comes from her greatest influence, her mother Stacey. Amanda and Stacey share a commitment to safe, happy, and healthy partnerships between rider and horse. Amanda is especially good with training confidence, relaxation, and forwardness in the horses she backs.

Amanda started training her personal horses in high school and professionally in 2017. She is a lifelong student of all things horses, currently focusing on dressage and the bio-mechanics of horse riding. She is developing an interest in Eventing. In the past she has studied natural horsemanship, as well as jumping, eventing, and the western events of cutting and reining. She has two horses (Max- 2010 dun QH and Chocky 2017 bay Hanovarian X) and one pony (Freckles 2007 POA).
